Clyde brings experience, energy, and ingenuity, with over 15 years of Executive leadership and Board service for organizations and ministries across the United States in such areas as higher education, mental health and social services, congregational and parochial school ministry, child development, and the arts. He thrives on building relationships with people, learning their stories, and helping them combine their gifts and passions in ways that change the community and the world.

As a nonprofit entrepreneur, Clyde brings demonstrated experience in developing meaningful programs and enabling institutions to advance their mission and work. He helps organizations align around a clear, visionary mission and connect individuals to that mission with their time, expertise, and dollars. He works with organizations to promote their identity, tell their story, and develop partners in their mission.

Clyde has a particular passion for building and revitalizing programs and organizations. He excels in leading and managing through turnaround and growth situations, understanding that each is unique but all benefit from organizing purpose, plans, and people.

Clyde has built up his expertise by working in most every nonprofit external relations capacity, from planning a large scale 6-day governance event for 3,000 people, to managing MarComms and outreach for a college division, to serving as a 1-person Director of Development, to planning and driving a $50+ Million fundraising campaign, to twice redeveloping and growing external relations programs as the chief external relations officer. A social worker by training, Clyde is a deep systems person and uses that trait to map people and plans to resource development and engagement strategies that support an organization’s vision and plan. He holds a graduate degree in Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago, and an undergraduate degree from Augustana College – Rock Island, IL.

Clyde lives in Des Plaines, IL, with his husband Kyle (a pastor in the ELCA) and their two cats Simeon and Gabe. Clyde loves spending time both in nature and exploring cities, cooking, connecting with people over coffee or something stronger, and investing in organizations and people that develop stronger and more vibrant communities.
