Margie’s entire career, has been serving ministries of the Church.

Margie has served as the Associate to the Bishop for the Northwest Intermountain Synod, on the staff of the ELCA Foundation, Associate VP of Marketing for the Mission Investment Fund, and has had a 30-year career as an Executive Director for camps. (in Idaho, Ohio, and Montana)

In her GSB work, she has facilitated Strategic plans for camping ministries and congregations. She has worked with organizations to grow annual fund, capital, and legacy donors. Clients range from the Pacific Northwest Conference UMC, to Oaks Indian Mission, Coeur d’ Alene Homes, to Lutherhaven Ministries to NovusWay.

In her work with the ELCA foundation, she helped over 40 congregations set up endowment funds to benefit ministries outside their own operating fund, to enhance and grow other non-profits. She led many seminars, and met with thousands of individuals on ways for people to give a gift in their estate plans, resulting in millions of dollars being left to ministries/charities.

She has worked with congregations in their on-going stewardship programs to grow generous stewards on all levels.

Margie also leads non-profit board and church council trainings, to help boards and councils grow in their governance work, as stewards of what God has entrusted to their care.

Margie is passionate about stewardship of fund development and the great outdoors. She loves living in Northwest Montana where she spends as much time as she can skiing, kayaking, hiking, looking at each and every wild flower, and picking huckleberries.
